Rear door latch acting up

Got a weird issue with the rear passenger side door on my 2015 Versa, the latch doesn't always want to catch when I close it, it'll bounce back like it's not grabbing, even when I give the door a firm shut, I can usually get it to stay shut after a few tries, but it's definitely not right, I checked the striker and it doesn't look out of alignment, but maybe it's shifted slightly? The latch mechanism itself also doesn't feel stuck or overly loose
What can I do?

Did you try closing the door while gently pushing it inward, does it latch easier that way, or still bounce back no matter what?

it's a 2015 one, the most likely culprit is a worn out latch assembly.
Inside the latch, there's a spring that's designed to snap the pawl (the part that grabs the striker) into place.
Over time and thousands of cycles, that spring can weaken or even break, leading to the exact issue you're describing.
I've seen this in my buddy's versa, the best and safest solution is to replace the entire latch assembly.
It's a job that requires removing the door panel, but the part itself is not terribly expensive, and it will solve the problem for good

Have you tried lubricating the latch first, @Sacvin3.0? Sometimes a little grease helps, but if it keeps bouncing, the spring might be shot.
